Mosques Affiliated with the Islamic Educational College

The Islamic Educational College is home to two mosques, one located in Jabal Amman and the other in Jubaiha. These mosques serve not only the students, faculty, and administrative staff of the schools but also the surrounding communities.

In alignment with the College’s mission to provide holistic Islamic education, select classes are held within the mosques, particularly for younger students. These sessions focus on teaching the foundations of Islamic faith, including the pillars of Islam, ablution (Wudu), prayer rituals, as well as Qur’an memorization and recitation.

Jabal Amman Mosque

The mosque in Jabal Amman was constructed in two phases:

  • The first phase was completed in 1370 AH / 1950 AD by Hajj Amr Ibn Ezzo Al Malabki (Ba’lbaki).
  • The second phase followed in 1374 AH / 1954 AD, undertaken by Hajj Hamza Malas and Sons.

This mosque has played a significant spiritual and cultural role not only in the Jabal Amman area but across the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It gained national prominence when the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV) broadcast Friday prayers and Ramadan sunset times from the mosque. Additionally, it served as a venue for recording Qur’anic recitations by renowned reciters from across the Arab world.

Jubaiha Mosque

The Jubaiha Mosque was built in 1988 AD, fully funded by the Islamic Cultural Society. It continues to serve the school community and the broader public, reinforcing the educational and spiritual mission of the Islamic Educational College.
