National programs

Distinctive and diverse education since 1947

The National Program includes separate buildings at both locations, Jabal Amman and Jubaiha:Elementary School(Grades 1-4), Boys School(Grades 5-12), Girls School(Grades 5-12)

The philosophy of education in the IEC Schools is derived from the philosophy of the Ministry of Education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Teachers rely on modern educational tools and strategies in their classes. Students in these classes sit in cooperative groups based on their academic levels and are assigned tasks and activities that appeal to their tendencies, interests, and needs. This approach is rooted in their intelligences, as identified through an evaluation process conducted at the beginning of the school year.

Additionally, real-life applications, raising questions that evoke critical thinking, using visual organizers, conceptual maps, and class discussions between teachers and students—and among students themselves—are utilized to create learners who are capable of analyzing, criticizing, taking initiative, being creative, and engaging in positive conversations. They also develop a comprehensive understanding of technology and its role in serving society, aligning with the vision and mission of our school.

In what curricular areas do your students perform well?

National Program:

  • Students are excelling in Islamic Studies and Social Studies in addition to the outstanding results of the Jordanian High School Diploma Results. The National Program has top 10 on the National Jordanian Level each year, which is a very competitive system. In addition, the overall results show that 85% of all students over the past 3 years are scoring 90% and above.
  • The ever-changing books of the Jordanian National Program mandated by the ministry of education present a challenge to the National Program. Thus, there is a decline in the performance of students in Math and Science (taught in Arabic), especially in the middle school. Also, the effectiveness of many programs has plateaued since the strike of Covid-19. These programs stopped during the distant learning and the educational gap had to be bridged. One of the skills most affected by the online learning is the English Language fluency, which is a major issue in the Boys National Schools despite many efforts to improve the skill through MUNs and Speaking classes. The results show fluctuation in the performance of students due to lack of interest and language barriers.

Students are required to take the following exams:

National Program: Jordanian High School Diploma Exams at the end of grade 12.
