American Program:
American program offers courses leading to high school diploma and SAT 1, 9 ACT Subjects and 10 APs subjects. In addition, students can choose Arabic from IGCSE Edexcel Arabic as a second language, Islamic Studies and Jordan history from Ministry of Education.
The textbooks and online resources are carefully selected and are in line with the curriculum. A learning support unit is designed to cater for the needs of SEN students. The teaching approach is student-focused and is meant to reveal each student's potential.
American curriculum is based on US State Standard Common Core grades 1-10 and it is monitored regularly and revised annually by the HODs and Supervisors at the American Program to suit the needs of students in terms of:
- languages: German and Chinese Program
- leadership programs The Leader in Me based on the 7 Habits Program
- Entrepreneurship programs
- Child protection programs
- Robotics Program
In what curricular areas do your students perform well?
American Program:
- The American Program offers 11 AP Subjects and the results exceed the Jordanian results and the International Results. The CSP Subject is offered mainstream to all grade 11 students and has been recognized by the College Board as an outstanding program. The AP Coordinator and administrators were invited in 2023 by College Board in Seattle to present the success story of the American Program APs. It is worth mentioning, ICS is the only open Testing Center for the AP Subjects in all of Jordan with the Amideast official Testing Center.
- In addition, the American Program has the highest Jordanian Equivalency results in Jordan where the only graduates who score full marks on a National level are from the American Program.
- MAP Results also indicate the students are excelling at Math, since the Math Program at the American has been accelerated with Algebra 1 and Geometry being offered in grade 7 and increased intervention apps such as IXL. In addition, given that the American program is based on the English Language, students are excelling at the Edexcel Arabic Exams with a 100% pass rate. The Arabic Program is enriched with supporting material, individualized plans and Bravo Bravo platform.
- Despite many efforts to improve the Reading Comprehension for students such as weekly unseen passages and increasing the number of reading hours, MAP results indicate slight improvement in the performance of students. Also, Covid-19 had affected the writing skills of students now in the middle school.
